We’ll be bringing together voices from across London’s funding and social impact sectors to help shape the work of London Funders – identifying the priority areas where we can achieve the greatest change for our city and our communities.
Board members will provide insights to help inform our programmes – from identifying key issues to explore through our networks and learning events, to sharing trends and insights to shape our evidence gathering and policy voice, to exploring areas where greater collaboration can improve the lives of Londoners.
As a board member, you will meet in person four times a year in central London, and you will also be invited to two key strategic meetings a year that bring together everyone involved in the governance of the wider Funders Together family. As such, we expect the average time commitment to be around two hours per month.
The board will be chaired by Yolande Burgess, Strategy Director for Communities at London Councils, and Trustee of Funders Together, ensuring that the board is both focused on the needs of our city and our communities, whilst also having a direct line in to the governance of the charity.
Membership, drawn from London Funders members and the social impact sector, is initially invited for an 18 month period. During this time, the board will consider the right long-term direction for this work (including any additional powers that the board needs to best support London Funders, and the right long-term membership of the board). There will be a total of ten places available for London Funders members, and we will be looking to ensure the diversity of our membership and our city is represented around the table. Alongside this, we will be inviting up to five representatives from the social impact sector – from community groups, equity and justice organisations, and research and policy bodies – to ensure a diversity of voices and experiences informs our work.

About the process
If you are interested in joining the board please complete this short expression of interest form by 4pm on Monday 9 March 2026. This will capture details about you and the organisation(s) you represent, and ask for a 500 word supporting statement about why you’d like to serve on the board and what particular experience or skills you’d bring to the role.
We’ll do an initial review of submissions and will be in touch with everyone that week on next steps. The selection process will include a review to ensure we have board members who represent the full diversity of our membership – you can see a summary of our current membership by size, sector and location here.
Alongside recruiting to the London Leadership Board, we will soon be recruiting to other roles across our governance, so if you don’t secure a place on this board we’ll speak to you about other ways we can harness your enthusiasm and expertise in service of our communities.
