At the end of 2025, Funders Together* confirmed plans to establish a new London Leadership Board, creating a dedicated space within its governance to ensure London’s voice continues to be reflected clearly and consistently as the organisation evolves.
Following feedback from members at the General Meeting, the Funders Together Board has now approved the functions and membership for the Board’s initial phase. This week, Funders Together announced that the London Leadership Board will be chaired by Yolande Burgess, trustee of Funders Together and Strategy Director for London’s Communities at London Councils.
Yolande brings deep experience of London’s funding, policy and partnership landscape, overseeing work focused on strengthening communities across the capital’s 32 boroughs and the City of London. She has also played a central role in shaping London-wide collaborative programmes at London Funders, including Propel, the long-term funding programme supporting London’s civil society.
The London Leadership Board is being established to provide challenge, discussion and oversight, helping to ensure that London-specific priorities, lived realities and place-based insight remain embedded in Funders Together’s decision-making and strategic direction. The Board will bring together voices from across the funding, public and civil society sectors who share a commitment to the capital and its communities.
Further details on the Board’s membership will be shared at the end of January, including how members can put themselves forward to join. The London Leadership Board is expected to be operational from April, marking a further step in strengthening London-focused leadership and accountability within Funders Together.

* London Funders operates as part of Funders Together, our registered charity and legal entity. In November 2025, members voted to update our governing document, enabling us to work in London and beyond and to remove the previous geographic restriction on our charitable activities. This change reflects members’ shared ambition to collaborate more widely, while remaining deeply rooted in London. London Funders continues to be our dedicated network, platform and voice for funders committed to the capital — focused on what matters to London’s communities, now and in the future.
