Following the terrible loss of life in the Grenfell Tower fire in 2017, London Funders brought together funders from across sectors to offer a series of collaborative funding programmes to ensure that civil society groups – across the voluntary, community and faith sectors – were supported in their vital work with people in North Kensington.
We delivered five collaborative grant programmes, all designed to support the work of the community organisations responding to the needs of the local community immediately after the fire and in the subsequent months. We provided a highly effective platform and vehicle for mobilising the funder response, with a number of our members having strong links to community networks and grassroots groups. You can read more about the lessons learnt from our emergency response to the Grenfell fire here.
