One of the ways we do this is through our funder networks. We run a range of different networks where people can connect and find ways to work together. This might be through one of our issue based networks, which are focused on themes identified by both our members and the policy environment, such as our Children and Young People’s network or our Research and Evaluation network. Network groups meet around specific aspects of funding. Open to all members, they offer time for discussion and exchange of ideas at a meeting each quarter. Group members set the agenda - with time to share news - and presenters also come along to inform and challenge funding approaches. If you’d like to find out more about our theme based networks, contact Malene.
We also help to convene a number of place based funder networks to strengthen and develop new local collaborations. Currently we support local funder networks in nine London boroughs. While each group is responsive to its local context, they tend to share similar aims, including:
- Sharing intelligence and knowledge about local issues
- Exploring ways of aligning activities and funding, to target investment more effectively
- Seeking opportunities to collaborate with others
- Sharing effective funding/grant making practice
