Propel Programme Manager (Secondment)

We’re looking for someone to join us as our Propel Programme Manager (Secondment) at Collaboration Circle.

  • Salary: Secondee retains own salary and terms
  • Hours: 16 hours per week (2 days per week)
  • Contract: 6 to 9 months, secondment
  • Location: London-based, with one day per week in the office (Tuesday)
  • Responsible to: Director of Collaboration and Development
  • Application deadline: 10am, 25 June 2026
  • Download the Job Description and Person Specification

About the opportunity

Collaboration Circle, a subsidiary of Funders Together, is seeking a seconded Propel Programme Manager to lead and coordinate the Propel long-term grants programme and its Delivery Team.

Propel is a long-term funding collaboration working towards systemic change in London. Through a pooled fund of almost £35m, two funders are making seven-year grants to around 30 to 35 organisations working on systems change. At least 75% of these grants go to organisations that are led by and for the communities they serve.

Grant decisions are made by a Funding Committee made up of four funders and eight equity and justice civil society organisations. A seconded Delivery Team of four part-time grant managers, drawn equally from funders and equity and justice organisations, supports the funded organisations for the lifetime of their grants.

This is a rare opportunity to work at the leading edge of equitable, relational grant management, alongside organisations driving systems change across the capital.

About Collaboration Circle

Collaboration Circle is a space where funders and civil society come together to design, learn, and make funding decisions jointly. Equity and power-sharing run through everything it does. It holds pooled funds on behalf of collaborations, and facilitates decision-making that reflects the values of the communities it serves.

What you'll be doing

As Propel Programme Manager, you will lead and enable the Delivery Team to deliver relational grant management, convene and service the Funding Committee, and create the conditions for learning and innovation across the programme.

Your responsibilities will include leading and supporting a seconded team drawn from funders and civil society, building ways of working that centre equity and experimentation, coordinating grant management processes and governance, maintaining strong relationships with funders, grantees, and equity partners, and contributing to learning that shapes practice across the wider sector.

Who we're looking for

We are looking for someone with proven experience managing complex grant portfolios or programmes with multiple stakeholders. You will be skilled at facilitating collaborative spaces, building trust across different organisations and communities, and translating learning into action.

You will be comfortable leading without formal line management authority, working with governance structures, and keeping complex, multi-stakeholder programmes on track. An equity mindset and genuine commitment to challenging injustice in how funding works are essential.

Experience with Salesforce or similar grant management systems is required. Training will be provided on specific operational systems.

How the secondment works

The secondee continues to be employed by their own organisation and retains all existing terms and conditions. Collaboration Circle will agree appropriate financial arrangements with the seconding organisation, taking into account salary costs, backfill requirements, and any other associated costs.

The seconding organisation's experience will contribute to generating and sharing learning about developing more equitable funding practice across the sector.

We are actively seeking to build a diverse team and welcome applications from people with lived experience of the communities Propel is prioritising.

How to apply

Download the Job Description and Person Specification

Please send a proposal of no more than two sides of A4 to [email protected], setting out:

  1. Your organisation's track record of managing a grant programme, and your organisation's ambitions and interest in making funding practice more equitable
  2. The skills and experience of the staff member you would propose to second, and the duration of secondment you could consider

Please also attach a CV for the proposed secondee.

Shortlisted organisations and proposed secondees will be invited to an assessment meeting, likely on 2 or 3 July 2026.

For an informal conversation about the role, please contact Geraldine Blake, Director of Collaboration and Development: [email protected]
