About the role
BBC Children in Need exists to make a positive difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. This role supports our mission to focus on funding inspiring ideas that provide effective and sustainable positive change for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
The successful applicant will play a significant role in the Greater London to meet the aims of the charity. You will be managing a geographical area and grant portfolio, working with local and national stakeholders to facilitate the development and delivery of solutions for change for children and young people.
Reporting into the Impact Manager, the Impact Officer will be the first point of contact for existing and newly funded organisations and will manage a grant portfolio and geographical patch.
You will be integral to the grant making process and will provide support for these processes within the wider Impact Team. Alongside this you will play a key part in supporting the BBC Children in Need Appeal and this includes acting as a point of contact across the voluntary and community sector and for key stakeholders throughout the BBC, across the BBC Children in Need fundraising community and beyond.
The successful candidate will have experience in grant making, working within the voluntary sector, or children and young people spheres. You will have an understanding of the current voluntary and statutory sectors, across Greater London.
Your excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills will allow you to communicate appropriately with people of all types and at all levels. The ability to organise a large workload and to work quickly but calmly to tight deadlines is critical.
