Why should funders seek feedback on their processes? How can funders receive honest responses from applicants and grant holders? How can funders see how they compare to other funders in the eyes of charities?
Meeting on Tuesday 10 October on Zoom, the R&E Network will be taking a step back and looking at ourselves as the subject of feedback, in terms of applicants and grant holders reporting on their experience. It can often be risky for charities to tell funders what they really think—so anonymous surveys, qualitative research and other tools are increasingly being used by grant makers to help improve their approach.
In the first hour we will be joined by Ellen Smyth, Programme Lead at CAST, to hear about their new platform Grant Advisor UK—where grant seekers can submit reviews of funders. We will also be hearing from London Funders member, Youth Music. Insights Manager, Remi Fairweather Stride, will share the methodology behind their annual stakeholder survey and discuss the insights that they have discovered. Finally, members are welcome to participate in a free-flowing open discussion for shared horizon scanning, troubleshooting related to evaluation, or to share their reflections, experiences and plans around collecting grant holder feedback. Please register for the meeting here.
Please note, this event is open exclusively to London Funders members. If you have any questions about our networks or would like to become a member, please email our Membership Manager Nasyah on nasyah.bandoh@londonfunders.org.uk.
