Chaired by Beth Bryan, Senior Engagement Manager at London Funders member, the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the London Funders Arts, Heritage and Culture Network will meet online on Tuesday 29th April.
Following discussions at London Funders 2024 Big Network Day, the Network identified capacity as one of the key barriers applicants face when trying to access funding and deliver funded work. A key reflection was that many members are seeing fewer applications than expected from applicants, especially from parts of the voluntary sector that are more vulnerable to capacity challenges.
We’ll hear from London Funders member London Borough of Croydon about the progress of their work so far to build capacity with their creative health sector through grant funding, networking, resource sharing and training; and an overview of their Croydon Loves You grant programme.
There'll also be time for members to share updates about current priorities and projects; hear from local authority members about activities in their local areas; collectively horizon scan, troubleshoot and explore opportunities for collaboration. Please come prepared to share!
Join the network as we explore and discuss how funders have tried to address this issue, including what different types of capacity building grants and support look like; what has worked well and hasn’t; and where there’s scope to try new approaches.
If you are interested in feeding into this meeting or future meetings, please email our Membership Manager, Nasyah.
