Her role involves overseeing grant-making processes and organisational development programmes, and creating and leading partnerships with funders and advice sector representatives to respond to emerging issues within London's advice sector.
Having worked for the London Borough of Haringey in community development for several years, Nezahat then led multiple UK charities that specialised in services, including refuge services to women and girls fleeing gender-based violence, including domestic violence, forced marriages, and 'honour' based violence, for over 16 years. Nezahat helped create consortia such as the Violence Against Women and Girls Consortia (VAWG) and led several partnerships, including European Social Fund projects.
Nezahat served on several boards, such as Cripplegate Foundation, a place-based funder in Islington, serving as a chair and vice-chair of the Foundation and is currently on the board of Commonweal Housing.
