- Only 26% of grants were for longer than one year.
- Around 40% of income in the cohort is from government sources . This represents £42.7m in grants and £66.9m in contracts.

Protecting investment in advice is essential to challenge poverty in the capital.
The report also highlighted a growing consensus that longer-term funding is needed to enable advice organisations to address the increasingly complex and interconnected needs of those seeking help. Through qualitative interviews with funders, the report found that funders are seeing increasing pressures on advice organisations’ resources and their ability to meet demand. Some are increasingly looking at how they can support advocacy and work to challenge the systemic issues driving demand for advice services. Workforce issues remain a major challenge for the advice sector.
There is a positive tradition of collaboration within the funding sector to build on, with opportunities for more integrated funding models, intentional peer learning and pooling resources. Looking ahead, we need sustainable national financial settlements for local authorities so they are able to meet growing demand. Protecting current investment levels is essential to challenge poverty in the capital.
