In phase one of the project, we conducted a review of the available UK literature on equity & justice infrastructure organisations, both their needs and their impact. The review revealed a shortage of literature on the subject and highlighted a lack of perspectives from these organisations, with most of the existing research carried out or commissioned by funders. You can read the report summarising the literature review here.
Alongside this, we’re conducting analysis of available grants data to explore the funding picture in more detail. We’ve also been interviewing stakeholders across the equity and justice sectors, as well as funders, to explore this picture further. As part of this phase, we conducted two parallel surveys in London – gathering insights from equity and justice infrastructure organisations as well as equity-led groups. After receiving insights from the London-wide sector, we are now expanding this survey to other parts of the UK to capture more of the work taking place, as well as understand the regional differences in this wider funding picture.
By filling out the surveys, organisations will help us understand how we can improve future funding and support for equity and justice infrastructure across the UK.
For by-and-for-led organisations working on issues relating to equity and justice: please fill out this survey. An easy read version of the same will be available for download here next week.
For infrastructure organisations providing support to equity & justice organisations: please fill out this survey. An easy read version of the same will be available for download here next week.
Responses will inform our research and subsequently inform discussions with funders on the strategic development of funding approaches in this space. If you have any questions about the project or would like to receive the survey in an alternative format, please reach out to our Research & Evidence Manager, Shreya Gautam at shreya.gautam@londonfunders.org.uk.
