About the role
Are you a finance professional with a passion for making a difference? Do you want to use your skills to support a mission driven charitable organisation and help ensure its financial sustainability. HEAR is seeking a Treasurer to the Board of Trustees. During this pivotal and exciting time, you will play a key role in overseeing the financial management of the organisation.
You will be required to attend 4 to 6 remote meetings a year.
HEAR is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (no. 1168591) with over a 1000 members; pan London, working within human rights, inequality and social justice. Its
mission is to be a collective voice for those working with the most marginalised communities. HEAR looks to further expand its reach to grass root and lived experience with intersectional needs. HEAR supports member organisations through connections, sharing information, expertise, knowledge, events, research, networking, campaigns, and more recently, the exploration of technology for mapping and information as well as digital inclusion. Key responsibilities include:
- Financial oversight ensuring the charity’s financial health through effective monitoring of financial accounts, budgets and financial reports.
- Budgeting and planning, work with the executive team and board to develop and implement annual budgets, helping to efficiently allocate resources.
- Risk Management, monitor and manage financial risks, ensuring that financial controls are in place and that the charity complies with legal regulation
- Income generation including fundraising support
- Reporting, present financial reports to the board with clear analysis and steps
The ideal person would bring experience in financial management or accounting with a solid understanding of financial reporting and budgeting. An understanding of governance, risk management and compliance. Possess excellent communication skills with an ability to explain financial information. Commitment to the mission of HEAR.
