About the role
Role Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of our events programme, working in close partnership with our volunteer led committees across the UK.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Effectively initiate, facilitate and evaluate a portfolio of fundraising events to achieve agreed income targets within expenditure budgets.
- Develop and expand sustainable annual events which support both individual and corporate giving.
- Monitor performance and ensure that appropriate post-event reviews are completed in a timely manner to inform learning and future planning, ensuring that the Foundation is responsive and adaptive.
- Manage all aspects of the planning and organisation of events, including the recruitment and management of volunteers and service providers, securing of venues, suppliers and sponsorship, undertaking risk assessments for both health and safety and cost efficiency, as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with supporters, volunteers and other stakeholders.
- Effectively promote events and fundraising activities through a range of communication channels.
- Create promotional materials using design software like Canva.
- Update the website and social media.
- Maintain an effective and accurate database of relevant information, producing reports, and supporting the banking and receipting process where necessary.
- Handle general telephone and personal enquiries regarding donations or other event fundraising issues.
- Ensure all fundraising activity complies with relevant legislation, internal policy, and best practice guidelines (established by the Institute of Fundraising).
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of charity legislation and government initiatives relating to the non-profit making sector, and work to the Institute of Fundraising Codes of Practice and Fundraising Standards Board ‘Fundraising Promise’.
