About the role
We are looking for a Research Associate to join our Policy, Communications and Research directorate to help us to meet our mission to partner with small and local charities, people and communities working towards a more just and compassionate society.
We’re committed to using research, evaluation and data for the Foundation and our charity partners to learn and improve. The Research Associate post is key to delivering that ambition. This part-time role will be responsible for delivering our research strategy: growing our investments in primary and secondary research - commissioning, managing, collating and disseminating high quality evidence that will inform and deliver the Foundation’s strategic aims. You’ll work with colleagues across our teams covering frontline grantmaking, place-based, systems-change programmes and national policy and influencing.
You will be a talented researcher, with familiarity with a wide range of methods and experienced at designing and managing research processes and tenders that result in high impact research. You’ll come with a network of contacts across both academic and independent research communities, preferably with knowledge of the voluntary sector and social policy research in the UK. You’ll be naturally curious, with an aptitude for detailed quantitative or qualitative analysis – or both. You’ll be comfortable presenting complex research findings in an accessible format, so strong communication skills are essential.
