Programme Director - Trust for London

Contract -          Permanent, full-time (part-time considered)

Salary -               £68,948 to £80,513

Location -           Hybrid working - 40% in the Moorgate offices

Deadline -           9am, Monday 7 March 2022

About the role

The Trust is looking for a new Programme Director to co-lead our grant funded work.

Operating alongside another Programme Director, the post-holder will play a crucial role in setting the future direction of the Trust by co-leading the development of our next five-year funding strategy.

They will be joining at a time of significant change at the Trust. After the retirement of several long-standing members of staff, the Trust is embarking on the next phase of its journey with a new Chief Executive and Senior Management Team. We are making changes to our systems to enable us to be more efficient, agile and digital – all with the aim of improving the grantee experience. And we are looking at how we manage our endowment, so that it better supports and reflects our mission.

It is an exciting opportunity for someone who is committed to reducing poverty and inequality in London. Experience of working for a funder is not essential; instead we are looking for someone with significant knowledge of civil society, and a demonstrable commitment to empowering people with first-hand experience of poverty.

They will need to share our values, particularly around diversity, equity and inclusion, and be a leader that is able to get the best out of an experienced staff team. Their approach should be non-hierarchical, empathetic and low-ego.

The Trust is an independent foundation that is unafraid of tackling difficult issues or venturing into unknown territory. This is a great opportunity to help shape our direction and make a real difference to the lives of low-income Londoners.
