About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Policy and National Programmes Manager to lead our work to influence policy and practice at the national level in England and Wales around a set of key priorities. You’ll play a key role in leading, shaping and delivering the influencing strand of our organisational strategy, in partnership with staff across the organisation and a wide range of external partners, to achieve positive change in the policy and operating environment for small and local charities, the social security system, the availability of appropriate and affordable accommodation and support for refugees and asylum seekers.
Leading a team of two and working closely with colleagues around research and communications as well as our regional managers and others, you will use a variety of tools to achieve the influence we are seeking, including our own voice, policy and public affairs activities, contributing to a range of cross-voluntary sector groups, working with charities and partners we are funding, potentially funding new work and liaising with Lloyds Banking Group. This is a varied role where you will need to balance flexibility and focus and be able to motivate, engage and bring people and organisations together.
You’ll be joining us at an exciting time as we seek to respond to the challenges and opportunities of the current political context and forthcoming General Election to achieve influence and impact around our priorities. Our ambitions are clear but you will have the opportunity to shape how we deliver and to bring together ideas and experience from elsewhere with our existing plans and programmes to seek to maximise our impact, as well as to develop your own skillset.
