Head of Grants and Partnership - Independent Age

Salary:          £59,250 per annum, increasing to £60,900 after 6 months

Contract:     Full Time, Permanent

About the role 

The Head of Grants and Partnerships will be responsible for the effective and impactful management all of Independent Age's grant-making programmes. They will ensure that Independent Age have appropriate high quality, efficient and effective systems and processes to create a strong foundation for the grant making operations and delivery going forward. The postholder will develop and coach the team to reach their full potential. 

Working closely with SLT, National Services and Policy & Influencing, the Head of Grants & Partnerships will identify and lead on the development of strategic partnerships that support meaningful collaboration and support wider impact. The postholder will take both a leadership role, and oversight, of strategic partnerships within the Grants & Partnerships team, working across Independent Age. A key focus of the work will be how partnerships can be built across the grantee cohort, and for the Grants & Partnerships team to be a conduit between these organisations and other teams across Independent Age. Working closely with other senior colleagues including in the Philanthropy and Partnerships team, the postholder will identify and build relationships with key funders including Trusts and Foundations with an interest in supporting work with older people. 

Working with the Director of Services and other colleagues, the Head of Grants & Partnerships will support the implementation of the impact strategy, ensuring accurate data and measures are developed and captured. 

With significant experience at a senior level of grant making strategy development and implementation, and of partnership development, the ideal candidate will be familiar with a range of evaluation approaches and frameworks, be experienced in undertaking due diligence and risk assessments, and will have successfully led and managed teams.
