About the role
This role will lead all finance operations for BD Giving and will work with the Administrative and Operations Officer to coordinate all BD Giving services. It will provide extensive support to the Chief Executive and the Board. The Head of Finance will ensure the effective and professional running of BD Giving’s day-to-day finance function, and lead the development and
implementation of the financial control systems and management information and reporting systems (MIS).
The role will work with the BD Giving staff to manage BD Giving’s core and individually funded projects; will provide timely and accurate MIS; and will contribute to BD Giving’s broad business and commercial view. A key duty will be the production of monthly SAGE accounts for BD Giving’s core function as well as the project accounting required by the Senior Management Team. This will include quarterly grant claims supervision, and preparation of annual budgets and statutory accounts. Cash flow planning and cash management linked with detailed credit control are all integral duties.
This post will be line managed by BD Giving’s Chief Executive and the post holder will join the weekly BD Giving Senior Management Team meetings and will be subject to annual performance appraisal. The individual appointed will be required to deliver against key financial and other targets. The post holder will attend BD Giving team meetings and participate in BD Giving events and strategic planning as and when required.
