Key Responsibilities
Grant Making
- Management of end-to-end grant programmes, including development of guidance, criteria and working closely with colleagues to ensure national coverage of grant programmes
- Outreach to identify prospective applicants, as well as support with promotion (where there are open funds)
- Providing support and guidance to applicants as they develop their applications in line with IA’s principles and practice
- Due diligence and assessment of grant applications, and ongoing management of funded organisations
- Conduct grantee assessment and monitoring visits, build effective relationships with grantees and partners
- Ensuring information and data on programmes and grantees is updated and accurate through the use of Salesforce and other tools as required
- Ensuring all relevant monitoring reports and data are collected and analysed to be able to fulfil our monitoring and reporting requirements
- Identifying and raising issues/risks to Head of Grants & Partnerships with recommendations / solutions
- Embedding learning and feeding into continuous improvement and development of IA’s grant making, including policies and process document
- Budget management for relevant programmes
- Support and engage with Income Generation colleagues to develop fundable propositions
Partnerships
- Working closely with colleagues, manage grantee and other partnerships that support meaningful collaboration and support wider impact.
- Support grantees to help build wider networks, where time and budget allows, producing resources and/or creating opportunities for peer learning or training as required.
- Act as a conduit between funded partner organisations and other teams across Independent Age.
Impact and evaluation
- Contribute learning, insight and evidence gained through our grant making and services to the wider organisation to ensure appropriate focus and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to outcome measures and monitoring and evaluation to be able to evidence our impact, and inquisitive about the impact of our funding at an organisational level as well as at a programmatic level
- Participate in the development, implementation and ongoing improvement of grant evaluation and impact reporting, both at grantee level and internal/management reports.
- Data analysis, research and impact measurement to inform future programmes,
- Writing up and disseminating case studies and key learning
- Contributing to website content, learning and context reports to the Board and Funders, content for funding bids and communications
