About the role
The successful candidate will lead the day-to-day operational delivery of our funding programmes – implementing systems and processes to ensure efficient and effective grant making and maintaining relationships with grantees, other funders, and key stakeholders. A member of the Grants team, you will report to our Grants Director (who is responsible for the strategic direction and management of the Foundation’s grant programmes), and you will be line managing a Grants Officer (who provides administrative and operational support and leads data entry & management for one key fund). This is both a grants administration and project management role – we are looking for a candidate with both sets of skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
In this role, you will work with colleagues across our organisation to lead the operational delivery of grant making programmes. Your duties will include:
- Working closely with one other Grants Manager, ensure effective day-to-day management and operational delivery of one or more funding programmes.
- Implement systems and processes which ensure efficient and effective grant making
- Provide advice and support to potential grantees making applications
- Provide initial review and assessment of grant applications and work with the Grants Director to make funding recommendations to the Board of Trustees’ Grants Committee
- Ensuring funded organisations are supported to meet their obligations under their grant agreements, including reporting
- Providing opportunities for the grantees to engage collaboratively through our network
- Support the implementation of our communications strategy
- Keep abreast of best practice in funding and review operational activities and identify opportunities for improvement
- Collate and share insight and learning both internally and externally to make the case for funding
- Conduct research to understand the impact of funding – including monitoring and evaluation of grant making activities, site visits, and meetings with grantees
- Serve as key point of contact with grantees and other key stakeholders
- In partnership with the Grants Officers, prepare key reports, develop funding programme materials, and prepare briefing notes
- Attend external meetings with funders to champion the role of advice
- Oversee effective data collection and management via Salesforce
- Line manage one (1) Grants Officer
