About the role
This role will be responsible for the successful management of a portfolio of grantees, some key partnerships and working closely with both internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will feed into programme design and development, and work closely with team members to deliver on the grants strategy and help Independent Age evidence and articulate their impact.
The Grants and Partnerships Manager (south of England and Wales) will be responsible for the effective and impactful delivery of Independent Age’s grant-making programmes and management of grantees. A key part of how Independent Age want to reach older people facing financial hardship will be through grants and partnerships, with a mix of local, regional, and strategic grants.
Independent Age plans to use grant-making alongside existing service delivery and policy and influencing functions to build partnerships with other organisations at a local and national level, so working closely with internal colleagues, the postholder will support meaningful collaboration and support wider impact. A key focus of the work will be how partnerships can be built across the grantee cohort, and for the Grants & Partnerships team to be a conduit between these organisations and other teams across Independent Age. Therefore, there will be travel across wide geographical areas to develop relationships and visit organisations.
With significant experience of grant making, the ideal candidate will be experienced in undertaking due diligence and assessments, will have managed grantee relationships and be able to evidence their learning and impact.
