About the role
Are you passionate about making a difference to the community? Do you want to support small/medium voluntary groups secure funding for their projects so they can make an impact?
We are looking for someone with considerable experience of working with voluntary community groups and has a successful track record in securing funding for small/medium and Global majority voluntary organisations?
The ideal candidate should have experience of completing funding applications, researching funding opportunities, generating income for charitable organisations, supporting small/medium voluntary groups (particularly those from underrepresented communities), and offering bespoke advice to micro voluntary groups on financial sustainability.
The voluntary sector has experienced a great strain in its resources due to the pandemic, cost of living and cuts within the sector. These difficulties have further limited the capacity for small groups and has increased the demand to secure funds. To address these needs, the role of the Fundraising & Community Advisor is crucial.
The role will involve:
- Developing and increasing the funding capacity of small/medium voluntary groups.
- Using your knowledge, skills, and experience to provide bespoke bid writing as required.
- Giving bespoke practical advice to Voluntary and Community Services (VCS) organisations to successfully apply for external funds.
- Providing multi-agency fundraising support to gain successful funding applications for groups across Greenwich Council
- Stakeholder support and liaison with a host of organisations across the voluntary and community sector, and working closely with MetroGavs and other partner agencies
- Working as part of the Royal Greenwich Voluntary and Community Development team to ensure the needs of small groups are embedded in the cross fertilisation of ideas, collaborative working and the overall aims and objectives of the VCS.
- Having a positive and flexible approach to and understanding of the needs of our community.
