About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the team of the City of London’s Central Grants Unit (CGU) as a Funding Manager, to help us take forward a significant strategic grant programme focused on Education and Employment.
The CGU was set up in 2016 to facilitate consistency of approach in philanthropy, working alongside the City Bridge Trust Team (the charitable funding arm of Bridge House Estates) to oversee the administration of the Central Grants Programme (CGP), which encompasses Corporate grant programmes and charitable funding and is delivered across several City Corporation departments. The remit of the CGU has evolved over time with increased responsibility for larger statutory grant programmes, providing grant management and funding services to Corporate Charities alongside the provision of strategic and best-practice advice across the organisation.
You will assess applications to the CGU working across a variety of grant programmes including a significant strategic grant initiative focussed on Education and Employment. You will support the Units evolving ‘Funder Plus’ offer and implementing a ‘total assets approach’ to use the full range of funding, knowledge, networks and expertise available through City Bridge Trust and the City of London Corporation; and make recommendations to Members to guide their funding decisions.
You will manage an interesting and diverse portfolio of funding agreements and ensure that the monitoring and evaluation are carried out; distilling any learning from the portfolio in line with the Units commitment to Learning and Impact.
