About the role
The Brief
We believe that MTVH and Impact on Urban Health could work together to develop a longer-term plan for how to invest in people on the Clapham Park Estate. We want to do this based on the specific nature of the neighbourhood as a regeneration site, with local people at the heart and building on the work MTVH has started.
We are looking for a social design partner to work with residents to investigate what that support could and should look like, co-create and (re)-designing employment support from a social with those who are most at risk of health inequalities.
We expect the selected partner to engage and empower residents throughout this process, and funding has been earmarked to pay residents for their time.
We are anticipating this work being over three broad phases:
1. Understanding the local picture and need
- Working with residents to capture their lived experience
- Identifying their aspirations
- Identifying gaps in current provision
- Deepen understanding of what support is needed
- Understand what the evidence is telling us
2. Developing concepts and ideas through a co-design process
- Facilitate and create opportunities for residents to generate new concepts, ideas and solutions
- Test out concepts, ideas and solutions with other members of the community
- To identify key findings from ideas and co-design approach
3. Pilot and evaluate
- Test and learn phase to pilot concept that has the most potential
- Evaluate and provide recommendations that could inform a larger scale programme
Local residents, MTVH, and Impact on Urban Health will be engaged throughout the process, and we expect the selected partner to support on-going reflection and learning for all parties.
Potential Phase 2
We anticipate that if a concept evaluates well, this could inform a larger scale programme of work.

- Experience of facilitating groups to analyse findings and make recommendations
- Experience of implementing practical solutions with and for the people these initiatives intend to support
- Experience of facilitating reflective practices across stakeholders, and applying learnings throughout the co-design process
