About the role
The Jack Petchey Foundation (JPF) delivers a programme of events that enable young people to feel recognised for their achievements. Each year, we give around 12,000 awards to young people who are invited to attend one of our 80 prestigious awards events that are held in theatres and venues throughout London and Essex. These events are high profile as well as being fun, uplifting and designed to boost young people’s confidence. They give young people a platform to perform, and promote a positive image young people to an audience from the community.
The Events Presenter (Freelance) will lead on the delivery of a scheduled number of Jack Petchey Achievement Award events throughout the year from scriptwriting, through to setting up and hosting the event and the subsequent event wash-up. The Freelancer will work with the JPF Events Team and its technical contractors in the smooth delivery of events. They may also be offered emergency cover for other event hosts.
You must be over 18 and will need to be a car owner with a full driving licence.
The final offer is subject to a satisfactory DBS check.

Next, you will need to send us your CV with any relevant experience included and a 2 to 3 minute video of yourself telling us what inspires you and why you want to host our events (this can be recorded on your phone; please ensure the video and sound is clear). You can send this through to us on Dropbox/ or using WeTransfer to jpfevents@jackpetchey.org.uk
Deadlines:
Stage 1: Your CV and video submission must be with us by Monday 2nd May.
Stage 2: If your initial application is successful you will be invited to interview on Thursday 12th May.
Stage 3: Candidates who are successful at the interview stage will be invited to host part of an event on either:
Wed 18th May Colchester Schools& Clubs – Charter Hall
Mon 23rd May Southend Schools & Clubs – The Palace Theatre Westcliff
(Training will be provided)
Stage 4: A final interview will take place in late May 2022.
Stage 5: Our successful Freelance Event Host will be offered events leading up to the end of 2022 and possibly into 2023.
