About the role
In this new role, you will strengthen the collaborative channels between our Council and residents, and play a central role in developing our c.£5m Grenfell Community programme.
The emphasis will be on learning what more we can to do support communities and encourage them to play a greater role in the design and development of local services.
Empathy and understanding will be key. Conversations with communities will often be spirited, driven by a strong passion to see evidence of change. As well as the future of assets like Maxilla Walk, you will lead the future phases of the Grenfell Projects Fund, and the Community Leadership Programme.
There will be the need to produce reports and articulate sentiment from communities, especially on impact. But there is more to this than analysis. We want you to be in the ‘thick of it’, understand first-hand what our communities are experiencing, and make your own recommendations: your position will give you an insight into how we can evolve methods and policies to better serve our communities.
This role calls for lots of fieldwork, attending meetings and talking face-to-face with community leaders, voluntary sector groups and resident associations – which may involve evening and weekend work.
