Chief Funding Director - Bridge House Estates

Salary:         £75,880 - £86,880

Contract:     Permanent

Deadline:     Friday 5th August 2022

About the role

BHE is a historic, London, endowed charity with contemporary relevance.  BHE manages and maintains five of the London bridges going across the Thames into the City of London (including Tower Bridge and London Bridge) - and its surplus income of c.£40M(pa) is distributed by CBT, through charitable grants, to London’s charities.  BHE is the 7th largest charity in the UK by asset base, is London's largest independent funder and has the City of London Corporation as its sole, corporate trustee.  The charity aims to be a world-class bridge owner, charitable funder and responsible leader: it works in partnership with civil society, foundations, policy makers and business to build a fairer, more equitable and inclusive London.

Following a recent strategic review, now is an important time for BHE’s development as it looks to use all its assets to increase the charity’s impact across the communities of London.  As BHE’s new Chief Funding Director and as part of the charity’s Senior Leadership Team, you will play a leading role in the development and delivery of BHE’s funding strategy.

BHE is looking for a collegiate, diplomatic and low ego-based leader who shares its values and passion to achieve a fairer, more equitable and inclusive  London. You will demonstrate the ability to engage effectively with BHE’s wide-range of key stakeholders; and be able to spot opportunities for collaboration. You will be an inclusive leader and strong people manager; actively role model good practice and have the ability to motivate and bring teams together through times of change.

BHE is a values-based charity and welcomes applications from all backgrounds and sectors:  equity, diversity and inclusion are as important for BHE in its staff and governance, as in all its charitable activities.
