But despite ‘sharing power’ becoming a much-used term, there is still a lot to unpick. If we are to truly understand how the power funders hold interacts with our ability to create change for London, we need to develop a nuanced understanding of power and how it can be backed up with meaningful action.
What does ‘sharing power’ actually mean for those making decisions about where funding goes, including trustees of independent foundations and elected members of public funding bodies?
On 22 March, from 6-8pm, we’re delighted to be joined by Paul Formosa (Trustee at the Cripplegate Foundation), Kamna Muralidharan (Chair of the Institute for Voluntary Action Research), Cllr David Leaf (Deputy Leader of Bexley Council and Cabinet Member for Resources)and Cllr Juliet Campbell (Lewisham’s Cabinet Member for Communities, Refugees & Wellbeing) to discuss this in further detail.
The discussion will be chaired by Yolande Burgess (Trustee of London Funders and Strategy Director at London Councils) and will take place at the Impact Hub in Kings Cross. Following the panel discussion, there will be a drinks and networking reception.
Please note that this is a member-only event. Trustees of London Funders members and elected members of London’s councils are very welcome to attend.
