With inflation set to rise to 6 per cent in spring (its highest level since 1992), alongside energy bills and national insurance contributions increasing in April, Londoners are facing what’s been referred to as a cost of living crisis.
Against this backdrop, NCVO and the Charities Aid Foundation have both reported that charities will likely face an increase in demand, while they continue to experience a decrease in income.
For our member-only insight meeting, we were joined by Greg Windle, Research and Insight Analyst at Peabody who gave us an overview of how the cost of living crisis will impact London’s communities and what funders can do to support those hardest hit by the crisis. The meeting was chaired by Klara Skrivankova, Programme Director at Trust for London.
