In May, local elections across London were taking place, with the parties elected making a number of commitments to support London’s communities in the next four years. Since then, we have been mapping out what issues are being prioritised by the successful parties at a borough-wide level. The mapping includes areas we know are important to members – from the climate crisis, children and young people to housing, domestic violence and the cost of living crisis.
This event explored what the local election results might mean for the individuals and organisations that funders support. We were delighted to be joined by the following speakers, who shared their reflections on what the local elections results might mean for the wider funding landscape and opportunities to act on the issues that will be high on the agenda for the next four years:
-
Christopher French, Associate Director (Research), London Funders
-
Rob Whitehead, Director of Strategic Development, Centre for London
-
Jahanara Rajkoomar, Director of Community Investment, Metropolitan Thames Valley
