London's Festival of Ideas - Sharing the learning from London's Giving

On July 14th 2021, we joined colleagues from across the Giving Movement to talk about the power of place-based giving at the London Festival of Ideas. Alongside Rachel Engel (Macquarie Foundation), Kristina Glenn (Islington Giving), and Savraj Kaur (UNITED in Hammersmith and Fulham), London Funders spoke to an international audience about how different parts of London's community can work together to support the capital's recovery, and how Place-Based Giving Schemes can align with the London Recovery Missions. 

The panel reflected on the lessons we can draw on from the past to best support local communities, and shared why they feel that now the time to be more radical and ambitious – the pandemic has been a catalyst for growth in many schemes, but also widened inequalities in our communities.
