London Funders' Research & Evaluation Network September Meeting

Open to all London Funders members, our member-led networks are a space for funders working on or interested in specific areas to meet on a regular basis to exchange knowledge and ideas, find out about other members’ programmes and current activities, hear from our friends in the sector, horizon scan, troubleshoot challenges, and seek opportunities to collaborate.

Wednesday 11 September 10:00am - Wednesday 11 September 11:30am

Chaired by Oliver Carrington, Evaluation Consultant at London Funders member, Imperial Health Charity, the next London Funders Research & Evaluation Network will meet online on Wednesday 11th September.  We'll be exploring how funders can use data visualisation tools, such as dashboards to improve what they do.

Dashboards can be powerful tools to help us learn from our data and to make decisions. More funders could benefit from using tools such as PowerBI and Tableau, to better understand the areas which they work, to visualise applicant feedback survey results, and to pull together live data from grant reporting. Dashboards do not always require paid software and simple set-ups can work well for smaller teams and their trustees. At the same time, dashboards come with their own challenges and do not necessarily provide all the answers that we may require.

We'll be joined by Alessandra Denotti, Data Analyst, and Michael Rigby, Data Partnerships Manager from Impact on Urban Health – part of London Funders member, Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation. They will share their experience of using dashboards and data visualisations to better understand the London Boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark.

We will also be joined by Matt Stevenson-Dodd, Founder & CEO, who will share Trust Impact’s approach to designing dashboards with charities, corporates, and grant makers.

After the presentations and the chance to have your questions answered by the speakers, there will be optional time for member discussion. This can include broader funder evaluation topics, peer troubleshooting, and sharing useful resources.

Please register here to stay up to date with developments. If you would like to feed into this or future meetings, or have any access needs or questions,  please reach out to our Membership Manager, Nasyah.

The Network is open to any London Funders member interested in research, monitoring and evaluation.

Please note, this event is open exclusively to London Funders members. If you have any questions about our networks or would like to become a member, please email our Membership Manager Nasyah on nasyah.bandoh@londonfunders.org.uk.
