While there is a clear role for funders to help prevent charities from reaching the point of having to close, when it does happen, what can funders to do help? What is our role in supporting not just the emotional and practical processes of closure, but ensuring that a charity’s legacy and institutional learning is preserved? And how can we ensure that funders are joined-up and coordinated in this process?
For our March insight meeting, we are bringing London Funders’ members together to discuss all this and more. We’ll be joined by Kathy Evans, outgoing Chief Executive of the recently closed Children England and Iona Lawrence, Co-Founder at The Decelerator, which supports organisations and individuals to anticipate and design closures. They’ll both share their reflections on the role of funders in helping charities close well.
Please note, this event is open exclusively to London Funders members. If you would like to become a member, please email our Membership Manager Nasyah on nasyah.bandoh@londonfunders.org.uk.
