Back in June 2023, we looked at what the introduction of Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) could mean for London’s funders and communities. ICSs are a relatively new concept, focused on creating better and more equitable collaboration between the health system, local authorities and civil society.
Now that ICSs have been formalised since July 2022, more understanding and evidence is emerging of how ICSs can function as effective partnerships between NHS organisations, local authorities and voluntary and community organisations. Recent research findings from both New Local and Locality shows community-led initiatives are effective in tackling health inequalities and improving people’s overall health and wellbeing.
For our February insight meeting, we’ll be joined by Oli Clayton, Co-founder of Soda who works with public agencies and civil society to develop more inclusive health initiatives and Sonakshi Anand who leads the Connecting Health Communities programme at the Institute for Voluntary Action Research.
