A report earlier this year from the London CVS Network, however, found that funding for local voluntary and community infrastructure “is a significant challenge, in the current context of constrained public finances and further compounded by increasing costs and increased demand for services and support”. This follows a publication from 360 Giving in February which highlighted the real terms decrease in infrastructure funding in the UK for more than a decade.
For our June insight meeting, we were joined by a panel including Bayo Adelaja (Founder and Chief Executive, Do it Now Now), Hannah Norgate (Networks Manager from London Plus) and Angela Spence (CEO of Kensington and Chelsea Social Council and Chair of the London CVS Network) to discuss the role funders can play in creating strong infrastructure support for London’s civil society.
