Following on from a first Roundtable in February where we examined how poor outcomes in immigration advice will impact on demand in other areas that funders support, such as homelessness and poverty, this meeting will focused on the specific issues for the immigration advice sector in London and the challenges and opportunities for funders who are new to this field, or who would like to increase their impact.
Speakers:
- Dr Jo Wilding, University of Brighton – interim findings from the London immigration advice mapping research, highlighting the issues facing the sector;
- Yolande Burgess, Director of Strategy at London Councils on what funders interested in engaging with this sector will need to know in order to make effective investments;
- Carolina Albuerne, Good Practice and Partnerships Manager at Refugee Action, on recruitment, training and retention for the advice sector and the challenges and opportunities for funders to engage and invest in this area.
