Equity and Justice Network Meeting

London Funders is committed to embedding equity and justice in our work, and we want to engage and collaborate with our members by extending an invitation to you to join our new Equity and Justice network.

This network is open to funders who are committed to building a fairer, stronger, and more just London through enabling a better and more inclusive approach to funding.

The network will be a safe space for members to challenge the status quo by respectfully engaging in difficult discussions with the understanding that this will lead to better decision-making and action. It is open to funders who want to do things differently and are keen to learn from their peers, share data and knowledge from an equity and justice perspective.

We will be facilitating meetings that will focus on different thematic areas. For example, having meaningful discussions on how to remove the barriers that have led to the underfunding of some groups. To kickstart our first network meeting we will be discussing disability rights and disability inclusion in grant-making.

Wednesday 18 October 10:00am - Wednesday 18 October 12:00pm

According to data from Trust for London, 33% of households in London with a disabled person in the family are in poverty. For our first meeting, Joanna Wootten from Trust for London and James Lee from City Bridge Trust will be informing us on the progress of the Disability Justice Fund. The Disability Justice fund is a partnership fund between Trust for London and City Bridge of £3 million with aims to fund Deaf and Disabled people’s organisations to help strengthen their voice for a fairer society.

Please join us – either in-person or via Zoom - at our first meeting as we discuss how our sector can centre disabled people and disability rights in grant making.

Please note, this event is open exclusively to London Funders members. If you have any questions about our networks or would like to become a member, please email our Membership Manager Nasyah on nasyah.bandoh@londonfunders.org.uk.
