Chaired by Gemma Juma (Deputy Chief Executive, Jack Petchey Foundation), our Children and Young People Network was established in response to growing concerns from our membership about the way that the funding landscape for children and young people services across London is changing. In particular reductions in public sector funding appears to be having a significant impact on the provision of services across London.
This Children and Young People meeting focused on enabling and empowering youth voice. As well as hearing from Gemma on the Jack Petchey Foundation's 'Shaping Our Future' survey, our members were joined by Mete Coban (Chief Executive, My Life My Say). Mete explained more about the work of My Life My Say, and what is needed to empower young people to engage with the democratic process.
