How can funders address the challenges facing advice service providers and the communities that need them most?
On Thursday 5 October, the Advice Network – chaired by Nezahat Cihan, CEO of the London Legal Support Trust - will meet in-person to explore how funders can address the challenges facing advice service providers and the communities that need them most. We’ll be hearing from London Funders member, the Access to Justice Foundation. They’ll share information about the Improving Lives Through Advice programme and the opportunities it presents to support advice organisations to improve access to advice for marginalised communities. ATJF will also share what they’re looking to achieve with the programme including demonstrating the impact of long term core funding to strengthen infrastructure; the benefits of working with grantees in a more relational way; and what does and does not work when trying to increase access to advice.
We’ll also hear from AdviceUK about the work they’re doing to respond to the experiences and challenges of community-based advice providers in London.
There’ll also be time in the meeting for members to network and to share any updates about their work and their thoughts about a London-wide advice strategy – so please come ready to share.
