James joined London Funders in November 2024, having spent almost five years as a director at Local Trust, the place-based funder that runs the innovative Big Local programme. Before that, he worked at the international sustainability non-profit Forum for the Future, where he set up a practice in strategic futures and led collaborative change programmes with private, public and civil society organisations. He’s a trustee of a small foundation and of a London-based climate action charity.

James’s hidden London gem is: the Betsey Trotwood pub on Farringdon Road, once the epicentre of London’s poetry scene.
