Next Steps in Building a Social Evidence Base for London - Member Forum (co-hosted with the GLA)

29 Aug 2018
2pm—4pm
314-340 Grays Inn Road, London, WC1X 8DP
The Mayor of London has given a high priority to improving social integration, diversity and inclusion, and economic fairness across the city. To address these needs, the GLA has begun an ambitious programme to improve its social evidence base and become city leaders in the measuring these issues.
The GLA have already been collating London data from existing sources (see the draft social integration measures, and recently published equality, diversity and inclusion evidence base) but existing data does not provide a full enough picture to answer many of the questions posed by policy makers in this area. To fill these gaps, the GLA is commissioning a Survey of Londoners to collect a variety of data, primarily around social integration, economic fairness, equality and diversity, and food poverty.
At this meeting, the GLA presented on its data collection thus far and the draft survey. This meeting provided London Funders members with the opportunity to give feedback, identify additional sources of data and to discuss broader collaboration opportunities on social evidence.
