At this meeting we showcased relevant learning and ideas for funders looking to support legal advice services in London.
Speakers included:
- Sarah Thurman (Head of Community Investment, United St Saviours Charity) covering All Change – The Impact of Universal Credit in Southwark and in Lambeth, and how the rollout of Universal Credit is affecting local advice services.
- Sally Causer (Executive Director, Southwark Law Centre) with Annie Lund (Hogan Lovells) on The Unmet Legal Need in Lewisham - An analysis of residents’ access to timely and affordable legal advice

David Jaggs (Principal Policy and Projects Officer, London Borough of Camden) on Camden's approach to funding local legal advice.
Social Finance provided an update on work that they are doing with the Legal Education Foundation, Law Centres Network and others – looking at unmet legal needs in vulnerable populations.
