London Funders has established an Advice Funders Network (chaired by Nezahat Cihan - Chief Executive, London Legal Support Trust) after hearing feedback from our members that they are concerned about reductions in legal advice provision in the capital; especially in the context of the rollout of Universal Credit and Brexit.

At this network meeting, attendees had the opportunity to hear from Julie Bishop (Chief Executive, Law Centres Network) on recent National Lottery funding to boost Law Centres' digital capabilities, and what it means for London's advice sector. Julie also provided a brief overview about issues affecting Londoners, what best practice looks like and the context of funding for London's Law Centres. In addition, Burcu Borysik (Policy Manager, Revolving Doors) presented on No justice in the capital? The charity is calling on the government to take into account huge disparities faced by people in the revolving door of crisis and crime in London.
