So if London Funders is one of the best jobs in London, why am I leaving it?- Blog by David Warner

David Warner, Director of London Funders (the membership organisation for funders and investors in London’s civil society) has announced that he will be leaving London Funders at the end of August and re-locating to the North Yorkshire coast.

David Farnsworth, Chair of London Funders, said:

“Under David’s energetic and inspiring leadership, London Funders has become a major part of London’s civic and civil society infrastructure. Working with our members across the independent, public and private sectors, we have been at the forefront of new cross-sector collaborations and initiatives. Clearly David is going to be a hard act to follow, but the Board is confident that we can recruit a successor who can build on the foundations that are now in place.

“On behalf of the Board and the wider membership I would like to thank David for all his hard work, energy, enthusiasm and humour, and wish him all the best in his move to North Yorkshire and the next stage of his life/the adventures ahead.”

David Warner commented:

“It goes without saying that I am going to miss London Funders. The last 4 years has been the most enjoyable, stimulating and fun role in my 32 years of work in civil society. The organisation has, over that time, become a major part of London’s civic and voluntary sector infrastructure, with an impact that far exceeds its size. There are many projects and initiatives – including The Way Ahead and London’s Giving - that I will look back on with genuine pride, knowing that London Funders has helped shape a positive response to meeting the needs of Londoners.

“Although I’m leaving London, London will never leave me. I will be re-entering the consultant/advisor sector, and as my networks radiate out from London you have not seen the end of me.”

The London Funders Board have started recruiting for a new Director and will be putting in place interim arrangements to make sure that there is a seamless transition to the new leadership.
