Our Trustees – now and for the future

This Trustees Week we’re saying a huge thank you to our wonderful Trustees, and launching our search for people to join our Board at our AGM next month.
London Funders is a small team, and we couldn’t do what we do without our committed group of Trustees, who generously share their talents to steer our work and help us stay true to our mission of enabling funders from across sectors to be effective, so that Londoners can live better lives.  So from all of us at London Funders, and on behalf of the members and communities we serve, a massive thank you to: Emma, Yolande, Sara, Sally, David, John, Victoria, Rohan, Andy, Bharat, Erik, Sarah, Monica and Jahanara.
You can read more about our current Board in the “our people” section of this site.  Alongside these biogs, over the last three years we have completed and published a diversity audit of our Board.  We’re committed to being open about our journey to ensuring we are representative of the people we serve, and this year’s audit report is available here.  As part of the report we’ve highlighted where we can identify gaps in representation – both in terms of the diversity of our membership, and the diversity of our communities.
At this year’s AGM (9 December) we will be sadly saying goodbye to three of our long-serving Trustees who reach the end of their third term of three years – Bharat Mehta from Trust for London, Erik Mesel from John Lyon’s Charity, and Monica Needs from the London Borough of Barking & Dagenham.  We’ve benefited hugely from their expertise, ideas and support over the last nine years, and thank them for their service.  Their departures leave seats on our Board that we’ll be seeking to fill at the AGM – not just as Trustees, but also because Monica has served as one of our Vice Chairs, and Erik as our Treasurer, so we also need people who are interested in taking on those extra responsibilities too.
If you’re interested in becoming a Trustee we can arrange a call with existing members of the Board, can invite you to observe one of our Board meetings (the next one is on 12 November), or send you any extra information that would be helpful – just get in touch with James to discuss.  More information about the role is in our summary sheet here.
Our Trustees are elected by our members at the AGM, so if you do wish to stand you just need to get a Member to nominate you using this form, and return it to us, along with a biography (no more than 300 words), before 5pm on Wednesday 2 December 2020.  We will then hold an election as part of the AGM on 9 December 2020 to appoint new Trustees to the Board.
