Voluntary Sector Infrastructure Development

For several very successful years, a group of London Funders’ members met to consider the support sector – second tier organisations whose role it is to support, develop and advocate for voluntary and community organisations. This group no longer meets though infrastructure support remains of interest and concern to many funders.

At the very end of 2009, with the approaching end of the work of the London Regional Consortium (LRC) which supported strategic development of London’s second tier, London Funders convened a discussion between interested funders and some of London’s specialist and generalist support organisations. See a note of the key messages conveyed from this meeting to the LRC here

During its period of work this project group brought together Big Lottery Fund, Capacitybuilders, key funders and other agencies involved in ChangeUp funding through the London Regional Consortium, and other funders interested in supporting generalist or specialist second tier work.
