Partnerships with local business are a key element of many giving initiatives and can have multiple strands and benefits – funding, employee volunteering, pro bono and in kind support and raising awareness and community spirit among customers and staff. This session focused on small to medium sized businesses and those rooted in the local community such as hotels and retailers.

Susan Dolton, Director the Kensington & Chelsea Foundation, Movell Dash, Business Connector for Business in the Community in Lewisham,  Sam Hawksley, Development Lead for Lewisham Local and Kyrsten Perry, Place-Based Giving lead at the East End Community Foundation shared their experiences and advice on initiating and building successful relationships with local businesses. Vicky Mirfin, Director for Heart of the City chaired the event.
