Sports Funding in London Meeting

City Hall (Conference Room 2) on Thursday 16th June between 10am-1pm

London Funders arranged an opportunity to bring together the wider funding community with the traditional sports funding community for a discussion.

The meeting entailed a briefing and discussion on the new Strategy for an Active Nation, as set out in Sporting Future, and provided an opportunity to hear from Sport England and London Sport on what this means for London and for the work of other funders in London.

The Strategy for an Active Nation represents a significant shift in strategy for sports funding by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport. Its five target outcomes (Physical wellbeing, Mental wellbeing, Individual development, Social and community development and Economic development) will have an impact beyond traditional sports funders.
