Research and Evaluation meeting - 10th March 2016

10am-12pm, London Funders. 314 - 320 Grays Inn Road, London, WC1X 8DP

This research and evaluation meeting had a timely presentation from the Sport for Development Coalition.

Emma Heel from Sported and Peter Argall from Comic Relief presented to the Research and Evaluation Network regarding the progress of the Sport for Development Coalition.

·         The Sport for Development Coalition, including Comic Relief, Sported, StreetGames and Access Sport, are working together to develop a common language and shared measurement framework for the sector.

·         This work focuses on identifying a range of outcomes that Sport for Development delivers, whether they are positive changes in an individual’s social, emotional and cognitive capabilities; individual achievements or changes in behaviour; improved inter-personal relationships; or benefits to society, and aims to establish consistency in language and measurement.

·         It also outlines an approach of how providers might design Sport for Development programmes and measure their outcomes, to help articulate the value of Sport for Development and the difference it makes in young people’s lives.
